Testimonials of The Month

I just wanted to say thank you so much for this wonderful product! I am 53 years old and work for the County of Maui in Hawaii at the Wastewater Plant. I do a lot of heavy work including lifting heavy objects, bending, climbing in and out of sewer wells, etc. I woke up one morning and could barely get out of bed. I had a sharp piercing pain below my belly area on the left side. I went to the doctors, they examined me and the result was hernia. This is the first time I ever had hernia so I was unfamiliar with how things were going to be and what I needed to do to heal it.

I was told that surgery was going to be the resolution to help the hernia. That was until my daughter; who believes in natural healings, went on the internet and researched for a natural alternative to heal my hernia. That¡¦s when she came across your product "Hawthornia".

After reviewing all the comments from other satisfied buyers, she immediately purchased a bottle. During the wait for the bottle to come in the mail I was in major pain! I could hardly walk. Finally when I received the bottle in only 3 days, I immediately took the product. Within a few days, I could go back to work!!! It was amazing! I thought the only thing that could help with my pain was the surgery! I was wrong! The bottle only lasted 10 days, so I ordered a few more after that.

Till this day I still have no pain and I am back at work. It¡¦s been a month now and I feel like I never had the hernia.

I returned to the doctor about 2 weeks ago to do an x-ray. The doctor also examined me again for the second time and in amazement the lump near my groin area was hard to find. Basically it was gone!

I am so happy with this product. I will keep taking it for as long as I need to. I highly recommend this product to everyone who is suffering from hernia. I believe it will definitely work! Thank you so much again for making a life saving product!

Foundations of Traditional Chinese Medicine (17)

1.3.3. Meridian Affinity

In addition to 4-Q and 5-Flavor, most TCM herbs have also been identified with their Meridian Line (see the Theory Chapter) affinity. Affinity indicates that each herb functions better to its associated Meridian Lines, thus act more effectively on organs or localities of the body along those Lines.

For example: Ma-Huang is found to have affinity to the Lung & Bladder Meridian Lines, which means the effects of Ma Huang are more pronounced in lung and bladder diseases; Since Ma Huang is pungent-warm, cold-evils infection in lung and bladder are best treated by Ma Huang, among all pungent-warm herbs.

Another import example is choosing herbs for headache; depending on where the pain is located, one should use herbs according to the Meridian Lines as:

Herb, headache location, Meridian Line

GeGen, forehead, YangMing

MaHuang, back of head & neck, TaiYang

ChaiHu, temples of head, SaoYang

HaoBen, top of head, JueYin

Therefore, knowing herbs¡¦ meridian affinity helps to use herbs more precisely for health problems. This property has to be memorized for each herb, just as 4-Qi & 5-Flavor.

1.3.4. Collecting and Processing of Herbs

Herbs are mostly collected from plants, for their different parts, such as flower, twig, root, etc. Different location or environment may produce the same plant with different Qi & Flavor. Time of harvesting is also important to maximize the therapeutic effects.

Herbs may be processed to change its properties; especially the meridian affinity of herbs can be changed by bake with wine, vinegar, or salt, etc. Some poisonous effects could be reduced with proper processing. These aspects should refer too special books.

1.3.5. Dosage of Herbs

Dosages are usually based on the weight of standard sun-dried raw herbs. The common modern weight unit is the metric gram, which is 1/3 of a Chinese Qian, Qian is commonly used in Chinese herbs stores. 10 Qian is a Chinese Liang, 16 Liang is about one pound. Depending on formulas or prescriptions, quantity of each herb used is different, but the most common weight is about 3 Qian each. (Children under 12 years of age use age/12 of the adult¡¦s dosages.) Currently there are powders of standard herb concentrates (water extracted) available in the market, typical concentration is about 1/5 of the standard dried herbs. But most prescriptions are still based on the weight of the dried raw herbs.

Chapter one is sufficient for beginners in understanding elementary TCM herbology. To use the herbs properly, one must learn some of the TCM elementary diagnosis methods of Chapter 2, together with more detailed understandings of the commonly used herbs in Chapter 6.
